Getting started

How do I create my first deck?

Go to Decks → New deck and give it a title and type (Vocabulary, Topic, or Exam). Then open the deck and click + Card to add cards manually. Alternatively, create a Learning Material first and use Parse to deck to generate cards automatically from your notes.

What is a Learning Material?

A Learning Material is a Markdown document that acts as the source for one or more decks. You write (or paste) your notes using headings to define sections — each heading becomes a sub-deck. Cards are defined with Q: … / A: … for questions or term :: translation for vocabulary.

How do I use AI to generate cards?

Go to Learning Materials → + AI Upload. Paste text, paste URLs, or upload files. The AI will produce a structured Markdown Learning Material that you can review and edit before generating cards. You need a valid AI provider API key configured under AI → Provider keys.

Studying

What study modes are available?

Spaced repetition (SM-2) — cards are scheduled based on how well you know them. Best for long-term retention.

Sequential — cards in order from first to last. Good for reading through material.

Random — cards in a random order. Good for exam practice.

What answer modes are available?

Multiple choice — pick from four options (one correct, three distractors).

Typed text — type the answer; evaluated by exact or fuzzy match.

Numeric — type a number; evaluated within a configurable tolerance.

Flashcard (flip) — see the question, flip to reveal the answer, then mark Easy / Hard / Wrong.

Can I resume an interrupted session?

Yes. If you leave mid-session, a banner on the deck's study start page offers to resume it.

Groups & tutors

How do I create a group and invite students?

Go to Groups → + Create group. Your group gets a short 4-character code. Share the code with students or go to Invite to generate a one-click link. Students join at Groups → Join group.

How do I assign a deck to my students?

Open your group, click + Assign task, pick a deck, and optionally set a deadline. Students will see the task in their My tasks list. You can track their progress from the group page.
